The Summit's History... in brief

The first Warwick Economics Summit took place between the 25-27th January 2002. This marked the first inter-university undergraduate Economics event in the UK. Approximately 170 student, including 40 non-Warwick students attended the lectures, debates and student-led seminars. The Summit was entitled "No longer inevitable? The future of the World Economy after September 11th”.

The event was a great success with the following Summit of 2003 addressing its delegates with notable speakers such as Clive Crook (Then Deputy Editor of The Economist), Dr Lopez-Claros (formerly of the IMF) and Johannes Linn (Former Vice President of the World Bank). Click here for a more detailed list of past speakers.

The Summit grew rapidly year on year to reach its current size and strength. 2010’s event will be the 9th incarnation. Each and every Summit continues in the tradition of building upon the quality and reputation of previous Summits. So if you came last year, the one thing you can be sure of is that this year will be even better.
