Name: Abhinay Muthoo

Position: Head of Economics, University of Warwick

Biography: Abhinay Muthoo is a professor of economics and head of the Department of Economics at the University of Warwick. He was educated at the London School of Economics and the University of Cambridge. He has previously taught at several other universities including at the London School of Economics and at the Universities of Bristol, Cambridge and Essex; and has been a visiting scholar at the Institute of Quantitative Social Science at Harvard University.

Abhinay has published research papers on a variety of topics in several top economics journals such as the Review of Economic Studies, The Economic Journal and the Journal of Development Economics. In 1999 he published a book with Cambridge University Press on the subject of bargaining. The book has been well received, and he is currently working on a second edition. Abhinay's current research interests include the role of political institutions on economic performance, the economics of the family, conflict and bargaining, development economics and game theory.
